99% of the people who buy this shirt read their NYT on an Apple device, and carrying the paper edition around as an accessory is an affectation that ought to be read (through tear-filled eyes) as a postmortem for what is now (more painfully evident here than ever) a bygone era…
Conversely, we may have entered an era in which the paper paper is being read ironically. Either way, not our finest hour.
