The jacket is what was in the mysterious box from yoox.com. As I mentioned earlier, I recently received a $100 Visa gift card and was contemplating purchasing some Walk-Over chocolate brown suede derbys with it, but that was taken care of by my serendipitous find at a nearby thrift store and so I spent the card at yoox instead.
The jacket is by Michelangelo, which is an Isaia diffusion line, and happens to be where, to my knowledge, the Gant by Michael Bastian made in Italy stuff is produced. It’s an unlined and unstructured sport coat made of a dark blue plaid fabric that’s 60% cotton and 40% linen—perfect for hotter days. It was reduced to $98 from an original price of several hundred dollars more, and I found a code for free shipping, leaving me with $2 on my gift card—just enough for a cheap beer at happy hour…
