dandyshootist asked: I know you're a big fan of the Dockers Alpha Khakis, as am I, but I'm curious how you feel about the rise on them. I feel these pants could be taken up to 11 on the awesome scale if the rise hit hit higher on my true waist as opposed to my hips. Thoughts?

Hey dandyshootist,

I imagine I must be built a bit differently than you (I have pretty short legs relative to my height) because the Dockers Alpha Khakis sit pretty high above my hips, and can be pulled up to my my true waist, though my preference is to wear them a hair below that. I will say though that the higher rise on the Alpha Khaki relative to Dockers SF Tapered Fit/Khaki Wader pants from last year is what elevates the Alphas over the SF Tapereds for me.  I wonder if you’d end up getting the higher rise you desire by buying Alphas with a longer inseam and then hemming them? Just a thought, but I imagine that would affect the taper some as well, since if you chopped say 3” off the leg, you might end up with a ~1/2” wider ankle opening…
