Here’s a close-up shot of just the upper half of the outfit I’m wearing today. It was inspired by the Pitti pic further below. While he seems to be mixing mostly textures (the light grey heathered wooly tweed of his vest and pants) and color (the green of his tie and sweater), the way in which I was limited by my wardrobe forced me to mix patterns and colors instead. I was hoping the Prince of Wales vest would go nicely with a regimental tie, and that the thin red stripe in the tie would be complemented by my red socks. The navy cardigan and dark grey corduroys kept the rest of the outfit pretty staid—but the cable knit and the texture of the cords added a little extra nuance.
